I had a busy, but fun-filled week.
Friday: My hunny and I found ourselves suddenly without children so we headed to Island Style Cafe for an impromptu date night. A friend told me it was the best Hawaiian eats in San Diego and she wasn't kidding. Delicious, fresh Hawaiian BBQ at reasonable prices.
Mmmm...already thinking about my next trip.
Saturday: There are only two reasons I’d wake up at 6:00 a.m. on a cold, dreary Saturday morning...if I had to catch a plane to a far off tropical location, OR if I had the chance to see the latest summer makeup trends at the Nordstrom Cosmetics Trend Show. After two cups of coffee and several layers of concealer (gotta hide those dark, pufffy circles), my friend and co-worker, Leilani (who I thought would be the only other person crazy enough to wake up at 6:00 a.m. to go look at makeup) picked me up and hauled our butts to the show. Little did I realize we weren’t the only ones. When we got to the store at 7:30, there was already a line of women waiting out front. You go ladies.
A selfie of us waiting in line. A not so good one (as I was forced to use the flash) of us holding our freebie giftbags filled with lots of fun samples from Coco Chanel, Laura Mercier and Go Smile just to name a few. If you love cosmetics but are NOT a morning person, then be forewarned: the Trend Show is kinda like a rock concert. There’s loud music, hot models, screaming women (no joke) and unbridled makeup enthusiasm. An "after" shot from our makeovers. Now, I'm not very trendy myself. I'm more of a classic kind of gal. It's
nice, really...saves me a
lot of money but it was a fabulous experience all the same and I can't wait to do it again in November.
Wednesday: Marked our last day of school. Relief flooded me as tears of sadness filled my eyes on and off the few days leading up to. I've been thinking about how much I'm going to miss this school year. Not only are my girls another year older, another grade finished but I'm really going to miss all the wonderful teachers who won't be returning next fall. They are more than just teachers, they are my friends. Our school was blessed to have them and I wish them all the best.
Maddie and her 4th grade teacher, Mr. S.
Kaylee and Mrs. Rollin's. So beyond blessed that both of my girls had her for 1st grade. She is beautiful, sweet, loving, patient..just an all around.amazing teacher! I'm going to miss her the mostest.
I took like millions of photos that I still need to upload and edit so check back soon for more.
Today will be spent doing more cleaning. I've been trying to get this house organized and stress-free. It's a lot of work but totally worth it. Today I'm tackling my kitchen. Countertops, stove, fridge, cupboards and floors. I have my work cut out for me, that is for sure. Toodles.

When exactly do I stop gushing that you're blogging again..??!
